I've noted the bizarre locution Bush used last night to describe the torture endured by John McCain. I hope the press corps will follow up. But one piece of evidence that the omission of the t-word by Bush was deliberate comes in Fred Thompson's speech as well. He went on at length about the hideous treatment handed down to John McCain in Vietnam. It was the longest section of the speech. Wanna guess if the word "torture" came up at all?

That's because the left redefined "torture".
It used to mean really horrendous treatment.
Today, it means a prisoner was given a single-latte when he ordered a double-latte.
So by today's standards-- John McCain wishes he was tortured. But instead, he received really horrendous treatment by his captors.

No. It's simply because Bush and Cheney redefined Torture so that they wouldn't be accused of war crimes within their own country. That the Right allowed them to do it, thus reducing McCains time in Vietname where he was tortured to a simple prison camp where he wasn't tortured is disgusting.

They are afraid to call what McCain endured torture because they don't want to be prosecuted for.. torture. Because that is what they have allowed to occur underneath the American flag. It shows what a bunch of cowardly people the right are; simply unwilling to take responsibility for their own actions.

Excuse me guard while your men were putting my testicles in a vice they refused my order for a double skinny mocha latte. For this I absolutely demand a foot massage whilst you water board me.
        You pukes make me laugh!

Locky, you're full of crap as always.

Deliberate infliction of pain to extract information is torture. Bush and company have sought to redefine torture, and it is nothing new - the Nazi SS called their methods of extracting information "enhanced interrogation."

Neither the old Nazis or the new want to admit that they use torture.

But it was a nice try, considering that you have an IQ of 50. Thanks for playing.

And the right redefined water-boarding as having a pleasant dip?
          Nice try though!
WTF does latte have to do with anything btw?

I'll admit that McCain's logic is tortured - does that count?
